Promoted to Sergeant, W.G. Brown served with ‘A’ Troop of No. 6 Commando from, at least 26^th March 1943 when he was reported as MIA along with L/Cpl. F.T. McArdle and L/Cpl. W. Larkins.

There was a Sgt. W.G. Brown listed as Prisoner Number 889 in Camp L3. This is the same camp as L/Cpl. F.T. McArdle (Prisoner No. 911) & Sgt. W. Larkins (Prisoner No. 907).
